Mo Younger's exposé

“Maureen Younger, this year’s New Act of The Year contestant whose sharp self effacing humour brings interesting new perspectives to the stage”

“Hackney Empire”

“We all went off to the Studio Theater, a small auditorium, for the costume session. Another young woman, Maureen Younger, who moved quickly and authoritatively around the stage began to organize a sort of playlet. By the end of our half hour, Maureen had assembled a cast, provided an instant plot, directed elementary stage movement, and given the students the chance to perform a boisterously melodramatic scene inspired by their flamboyant costumes. James and I were part of their small and appreciative audience. “

Susan Allen Toth – The New York Times

“I felt like I’d learnt something as well as being entertained by comedians Paul MacCaffrey, Gavin Hammer and especially Maureen Younger.”

"A week of roaming about the Festival.. LOTSA comedy... but aside from the big names, the long-term professionals, there's a lot of talent out there. Comic Irrigation at the ZOO is well-attended and 'funny' every single night. One comedienne in particular has stood head and shoulders talent-wise above the others again and again: Maureen Younger, with her peach of a delivery on 'fuck it.. fuck it'... Great stuff and just one more week to go."

"Comic Irrigation Edinburgh 2006, Zoo Southside Maureen Younger is superb. In front of a packed crowd her frank humour, sharp delivery and personable stage presence made her a winning performer at Comic Irrigation during this year’s Edinburgh Comedy Festival. She is a “must see” on the comedy circuit!"

Wanda Keenan, Host, Comic Irrigation

"Maureen Younger has performed at some of Brighton’s hottest up and coming comedy nights including the inaugural RAW and the TV pilot Maddie Live. Her recent performance at the Brighton Festival Fringe 2006, showed audiences that she has the essential ingredients necessary to be one of the UK’s funniest comics.

Maureen has an exceptional ability to engage with her audience and this combined with her honesty and wit, you can’t help but want more. Confident in her ability to make audiences laugh, Maureen is comfortable with the stage and openly shares those outrageously funny moments of looking like a pregnant woman and how she uses this to her utmost advantage! Maureen captivates her audiences through her dramatic and full of attitude style of comedy. Her future as a comedienne is bright and she is a must to be seen so keep your eyes peeled".

Maddie Bridgett, Host of RAW

"Maureen Younger is a force of comic nature. Fast feisty and more than a little dangerous she has a set packed with great one liners yet her perhaps her greatest strength is ad-libbing with an audience (particularly good at putting some of the men in their place!). A big personality married to a generous comedic sensibility, Maureen will go far.

She is also very professional, reliable, fun and easy to work with! All round good egg!

“Maureen Younger is a resounding success as the pivotal Joan, giving an outrageous spoof director performance that ranks alongside Christopher Guest’s

Corky St Clair in Waiting for Guffman.”
